My passion for Real Estate and Construction began as a Realtor many years back. Loving it and yearning to learn more, I transitioned into Corporate Real Estate and Construction. Finally, working with a General Contractor. As time went on, every home I purchased, remodeled and sold, resulted in great profits. I found a niche…realized I had a knack for knowing what to update and how to stage a home. In the process, I became comfortable with tools and learned I really enjoy using my tools to create things…feature walls, headboards, accent furniture pieces, raw edge shelving and she-sheds…to name a few. Pictures below are from various projects of mine.

DIY Dining Table

Made this table from old wood planks and bought base online.

Transformed sun room

Took this room from dingy vinyl floors and walls, to this lively want-to-be-in space

Bath Feature wall

Took standard looking half bath and transformed it with a few inexpensive changes. Feature wall made from old fence pickets, changed fixtures and painted existing sink cabinet.

Updated Master Bath

Added feature wall, removed built-in jetted tub and shower enclosure and fixtures. Added a nice chandelier and rustic decorations.

Updated guest bath

Updated rustic counter, new flooring and fixtures. New paint on walls.

New flooring

Installed new Saltillo flooring to replace all carpeted areas in this home.

Nursery Update

Installed new wallpaper and flooring in this early 1900’s attic space nursery. Walls were in bad shape. The wallpaper was a cost effective solution.

New shelving

Added rustic industrial shelving to kitchen space that was underutilized.

DIY king headboard

Made this DIY king headboard out of fence panels. They were the perfect size to accommodate a king bed.

I LOVE shopping for new tools, specifically power tools! Yes, my favorite stores are Home Depot, Ace Hardware and Lowe’s. I enjoy going to lumber yards and bringing home piles of wood, which = new projects.

If you are intimidated by power tools, some hardware stores offer classes. I asked my husband lots of questions and have watched many YouTube videos with live how-to tutorials. I’ve learned more by messing things up and starting all over. If you are single, ask a lot of questions at the hardware store. Take pictures of what you are working on and explain what you want as an end result. There are so many talented people out there, willing to offer advise.
